A rediscovered photo book takes us back to Ascona: two models, timeless fashion, summer light, and a setting that moves between the old town, the pool, and Lake Maggiore.
A photo book from 2014 has resurfaced—Dreams of Jewels by Landolf & Huber, available through Blurb—and with it, plenty of memories from a special summer day in Ascona. Together with Laura Kipfer and Rayane Wechler, we created a series that captures the spirit of Lake Maggiore: Mediterranean ease, elegant evening light, and timeless fashion.
The two models brought Ascona to life with natural presence and a playful energy. We photographed in a variety of locations: by the pool, in the town’s narrow lanes, and against the striking backdrop of the lake and surrounding mountains. The looks moved between relaxed summer styling, swimwear, fine cashmere pieces, and elegant evening gowns—sometimes glamorous and dramatic, sometimes effortlessly light.
Looking back at the images today, it is striking how timeless this production has remained. The fashion, colours, and atmosphere still feel fresh: a visual return to a creative day full of style, encounters, and Mediterranean summer air.
