Ralf Eyertt – Biography
Early Life & Background
Ralf Eyertt was born in Hildesheim and grew up in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich. His professional career began in marketing and business consulting before he increasingly turned to creative media from 1986 onwards. He explored photomontage, digital image processing and computer graphics early on; some of his first works were exhibited publicly.
Artist Management & Creative Transition
Between 1996 and 2005, Ralf Eyertt worked in artist management and the music industry. He designed CD and DVD covers, organised artist projects and founded one of Germany’s first online music magazines, which remains active today without his involvement. This phase sharpened his visual perspective and his ability to combine strong imagery with strategic impact.
From 2006 onwards, he devoted himself entirely to photography – first in studio and cover productions, later with an increasing focus on fashion, beauty and portrait photography.
Swiss Years: 2010–2024
From 2010 to 2024, Ralf Eyertt lived and worked as an independent photographer in Switzerland. He became firmly established in the creative and fashion scene, working for international brands, editorial magazines and beauty clients.
His clients included the international fashion label H&M as well as Swiss fashion and lifestyle magazines. He was especially sought after in the beauty sector: for many years, the professional magazine Beauty Forum regularly commissioned him to photograph covers and trend make-up productions.
During the final four years of his time in Switzerland, Gala Switzerland and Quatro Magazine, under the direction of Sabine Hauptmann, also worked with him regularly. Both valued his distinctive aesthetic and instinct for visual impact.
Return to Germany & New Studio
In June 2024, Ralf Eyertt returned to his hometown of Taufkirchen/Vils in Bavaria. In February 2025, he opened his own new studio there. Now retired from commercial work, he focuses exclusively on fashion editorials, beauty productions, portraits and artistic, concept-driven projects with a strong creative idea.
Visual Style & Recognition
Ralf Eyertt’s work is characterised by a bold, graphic and emotionally direct visual language. Fashion, beauty and portraiture are reduced to their essential forms while retaining presence, expression and atmosphere. Magazines and creative partners value his focus on beauty, composition and visual storytelling.
One signature of his lighting is the “Cat Lights” technique: two intersecting strip lights that model faces with sculptural clarity and expression.
His guiding principle: “A natural smile is the most beautiful smile.”
Publications & Platforms
Ralf Eyertt’s work has appeared in national and international magazines including Vogue Business, Scorpio Jin Magazine, Malvie, Shuba, Evon, Vogue Germany, Trinidad Woman and Schweizer Illustrierte. Platforms such as Kavyar, Viewbug, 1x.com and PhotoVogue have also published and curated his work. He was a Viewbug curator and has received several awards.
Projects & Collaborations
One of his most distinctive series was created with sisters Vivienne and Gisele Oesch, with make-up, hair and styling by Anne Naumann. The project combines fashion elegance, emotional depth and the subtle dynamic between siblings.
Another example of his collaborative approach is The Aquarium, created with photographer Carlos Santero. Ralf Eyertt photographed the original images, while Santero contributed the artistic post-production, resulting in a visually layered work with two creative signatures.
Creative Approach & Future Vision
Today, Ralf Eyertt is interested in carefully developed creative collaborations rather than routine commissions. Each project begins with a strong visual idea, mood boards and clear planning. His future focus includes artistic outdoor and travel series, as well as editorial projects with magazine potential.
A new photobook is also in development, exploring the relationship between human beauty and symbolic landscapes in a poetic, contemplative visual language.
