Some magazines are simply one publication among many. Others stay with you for years and gradually become part of your photographic journey. For me, Scorpio Jin Magazine from Florida definitely belongs to the second category. Since my first publication in September 2018, the magazine has featured 52 of my editorials, with the most recent one appearing in June 2026.
Today I would like to tell you a little about one of my absolute favourite magazines: Scorpio Jin Magazine from Florida.
My collaboration with the magazine began in September 2018 and continued until June 2026. During those almost eight years, 52 different editorials of mine were published in Scorpio Jin.
Looking at that number today, I find it quite remarkable myself.
After all, every publication represents a separate production, a different team, a new idea and, very often, an opportunity to experiment with something we had not done before.
Scorpio Jin was never just another magazine to me.
Its motto is:
Ambition Never Felt This Sexy
Inspired by the colours and attitude of Miami, the magazine focuses on self-discovery, bold ideas and the constant desire to push the boundaries of fashion and beauty.
And that philosophy is clearly visible throughout its pages.
Scorpio Jin places a strong emphasis on expression, staging, make-up, styling and personality. It is not simply about presenting fashion beautifully. Images are allowed to stand out, to surprise, to provoke and to create their own distinctive atmosphere.
In the beginning, this was also something of a challenge for me.
I had been following the magazine for quite some time before my first publication. At that stage, I often felt that my own editorials might still be a little too focused on classic fashion photography. Scorpio Jin frequently placed even greater emphasis on make-up, styling, staging and a more experimental visual language.
Then, in 2018, I finally managed to place my first editorial in the magazine.
What followed was something I probably would not have expected at the time: a collaboration lasting many years.
As time went on, we even began planning certain productions specifically with Scorpio Jin in mind. Make-up, styling, lighting, expression and the overall concept were sometimes developed deliberately to fit the magazine’s distinctive visual world.
Perhaps that is also one of the reasons why the collaboration worked so well for such a long time.
Scorpio Jin is what is known as a POD magazine – Print on Demand. This means that it is not traditionally available at newsstands. Instead, each issue can be ordered online, either as a digital edition or as a printed magazine.
For me as a photographer, however, the printed edition has always been something special.
Of course it is wonderful to see your images online or displayed on a screen. But holding a printed magazine in your hands, turning the pages and suddenly seeing your own editorial in front of you creates a completely different feeling.
And with Scorpio Jin, I had that feeling no fewer than 52 times.
Between 2018 and 2026, the magazine featured a wide range of my work – fashion, beauty, experimental editorials, extraordinary styling concepts and many productions that now have a permanent place in my photographic archive.
My most recent publication in Scorpio Jin appeared in June 2026.
Was it really the last one?
I rather doubt it.
Whenever new productions are created and a series fits the character of Scorpio Jin, I will certainly continue trying to publish there in the future.
Because some magazines accompany you for more than just a single issue.
Some become part of your photographic history.
And for me, Scorpio Jin is definitely one of them.
I hope you enjoy browsing through this selection of images from my publications in Scorpio Jin Magazine.
With 52 editorials published over the years, this can of course only be a small glimpse into the full story.
