Rey Rodríguez – Model, Editor and Ambassador for Colombia

When I first met Rey Rodríguez in 2016, I encountered someone who could not be defined by just one role. Rey worked as a model for me, bringing a distinctive presence in front of the camera. At the same time, he also worked as an editor for Fashion World Biz. We came to know each other through these different roles and collaborated over several years.

Our professional connection has continued to this day, although our last joint production took place in 2020. During our time working together, Rey moved naturally between different responsibilities: in front of the camera as a model and in the editorial world as someone who helped shape stories and ideas.

Rey’s journey took him from La Guajira in Colombia to Europe. From an early age, he was determined not to let the limited opportunities people saw in his home region hold him back. In 2012, he was named Mister Colombia International and represented his country at the Mister International competition in Bangkok. He arrived in Switzerland in 2013, where he continued to develop his international career.

His versatility is also reflected in his education and interests. Rey studied hotel and tourism management, followed by social communications at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration. He also speaks six languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese and German. In 2014, he launched his blog, “REYRO in a Fashion World,” writing about fashion, lifestyle and travel and interviewing well-known personalities.

As a coach, Rey also focuses on communication and personal presence. His aim is to support people and help them make the most of their potential. This desire to encourage others runs through many parts of his life—from his work as a model and editor to his appearances as a presenter.

Rey remains a special person in my professional journey because our collaboration brought together several sides of his work. Photography and editorial projects went hand in hand, and I saw the openness, ambition and commitment he brought to each role. His story shows how far curiosity, discipline and the courage to take a new path can lead.
