Astrea Gonzales – an encounter that lives on in images

Ten productions between 2017 and 2023, shaped by expression, professionalism and a special connection.

I met Astrea Gonzales in 2017 through Ketty Numes, the owner of Kenu-Boutique. Since then, whenever Astrea visited her mother in Zurich, she would make time to step in front of my camera. She lives in Venezuela, making her one of the models who travelled the greatest distance to work with me.

Our collaboration was abruptly interrupted during the COVID period. Astrea was not allowed to enter Switzerland. She had already arrived at Zurich Airport, only to be sent back to her home country—a dramatic experience that put our plans on hold for a time.

Despite that interruption, we created ten productions between 2017 and 2023. They included fashion shoots as well as personal projects, some of which were later published in magazines. Each session produced images with its own distinctive character.

A presence in front of the camera

Working with Astrea was always a special experience for me. She is one of the most professional models I could hope to work with: expressive, focused and fully present in every moment. Her versatility and powerful presence gave each production its own energy. The images speak for themselves; none of our collaborations felt ordinary.

Our last shoot took place in 2023. I look back on that time with great appreciation and am grateful for the collaboration that connected us over the years. A future shoot would mean Astrea travelling to Germany to visit me. Perhaps that opportunity will come again one day. I would be delighted to work with her once more.
