Veronica Kiriak – More Than a Face in Front of the Camera

A Woman of Many Facets

Some people leave a lasting impression from the very first moment. Not because they demand attention, but because they possess a natural presence that is difficult to put into words.

Veronica Kiriak is one of those people.

When I first welcomed Veronica into my Zurich studio in 2022, I already knew that she worked as a model and had a remarkable appearance. What I didn’t yet fully understand was the extraordinary life story behind this confident young woman.

Born in Moldova, Veronica moved to Israel with her family at the age of eight. At just eighteen, she made the courageous decision to move to Germany on her own. Without speaking German, without family connections and with limited financial resources, she pursued an ambitious dream: becoming a doctor.

She learned the language, supported herself through work and a scholarship, and eventually completed her medical studies in Munich. Her professional journey later brought her to Switzerland, where she found a new home.

Today, she works in aesthetic medicine in Zurich while maintaining an impressive presence on social media. Her earlier experiences as a model, actress and influencer gave her a natural familiarity with cameras and public attention.

But when we first met, none of these titles really mattered.

In my studio, Veronica was simply a fascinating personality who instinctively understood how to move, express herself and communicate through photography.

2022 – When Everything Clicks from the First Moment

Our first collaboration took place in 2022, together with hair and makeup artist Dana Jokic.

Some photoshoots begin with a period of adjustment. You discuss poses, experiment with lighting and gradually discover which expressions work best for the model.

With Veronica, everything was different.

Although we had only just met, an almost effortless understanding developed between us. I hardly needed to explain the atmosphere or expression I was looking for. She understood my visual ideas, interpreted them in her own way and brought an energy that gave the entire production a distinctive rhythm.

Dana complemented our collaboration with her exceptional sense of makeup and styling, bringing all the elements together into a cohesive editorial.

The results were not only satisfying for us as a creative team. The images also attracted attention from international fashion magazines.

After that first session, one thing was certain: I wanted to work with Veronica again.

2023 – Flowers, Beauty and a MALVIE Cover

A year later, we reunited for our second production, this time with Reslie Mundwiler responsible for hair and makeup.

Our creative concept revolved around flowers and floral elements – a recurring theme in beauty photography, yet one that offers almost limitless opportunities for interpretation.

Flowers can be playful, romantic, sensual or sculptural. What matters is how they are presented and, most importantly, the personality of the person bringing them to life.

Veronica was the perfect choice.

Her ability to control the smallest changes in facial expression and posture transformed the photographs into something beyond conventional beauty imagery. Together with Reslie’s styling, we created portraits that balanced delicate elegance with striking visual expression.

The highlight came when our floral beauty editorial was selected for the cover of the French MALVIE Magazine.

It was a wonderful achievement for the entire team and further confirmation of how naturally our creative collaboration worked.

2024 – A Touch of VOGUE and Swiss Fashion Design

Our third and, so far, most recent collaboration took place in 2024.

Dana Jokic joined us once again, and this time we welcomed another creative partner: the Swiss fashion label Maßband.

Our ambition was not simply to photograph clothing, but to create a visual narrative with its own identity. We drew inspiration from the sophisticated fashion editorials of international magazines, particularly the distinctive visual language associated with VOGUE.

We wanted to bring elegance, expression and dramatic styling together. Fashion would not simply be worn; it would become part of a story.

And once again, Veronica demonstrated exactly what makes her such an exceptional model.

She did more than present the designer’s creations. She gave them attitude, character and emotion. Every pose, every glance and every movement felt like part of a larger narrative.

Dana’s styling provided the perfect visual complement, while Maßband’s designs formed the fashion foundation of the editorial.

The resulting image series earned another cover publication, this time in the American Scorpio Jin Magazine.

For me, this completed a beautiful creative chapter: three productions, three distinct concepts and three collections of images, each with its own identity.

Beauty Is More Than What We See

During an interview with Swiss broadcaster Radio Munot, Veronica described herself in three words: hardworking, unique and creative.

I believe those words capture her personality remarkably well.

Behind the confident woman who reaches thousands of people on Instagram and works as a doctor in Zurich is someone who has pursued her ambitions with exceptional determination.

Perhaps it is precisely this combination of life experience, intelligence, ambition and creativity that makes Veronica so compelling in front of the camera.

Of course, she is a beautiful woman. But beauty alone does not make an exceptional model.

For me, a truly memorable photograph begins where physical appearance ends. It emerges when an expression tells a story, when a gesture reveals something about a person and when a connection develops between photographer and model that cannot be manufactured.

With Veronica, that connection existed from our very first shoot.

Our three collaborations between 2022 and 2024 represent more than beautiful fashion and beauty photography. They reveal different facets of a woman who cannot be defined by just one profession or one role.

And perhaps that is the secret of her extraordinary presence: Veronica does not simply play a role in front of the camera. She always brings a part of her own story into the picture.
